We still read Shakespeare because of the complexity of his work. There is a lot to be learned from the very metaphorical way he writes down characters lines. Every line seems to have a much deeper meaning than it initially appeared to be.

I have learned how to analyze texts for rhetoric and metaphors in a language much more complex than the one I speak. I have also learned that Shakespeare is not as complicated as I thought. Even though his plays are in a much older English they really are not complex once you understand them.
